Ephemeral Hopes

Ephemeral Hopes

Written by Umi Aimen Kundangar

Why does hope simmer down like the sun in the mountains?

Why can’t it stay for long?

Why does hope wither like the flowers die on the onset of autumn?

Why can’t it stay for long ?

Why does hope die like the bubbling fountains?

Why can’t it stay for long ?

Why does hope lose its warmth like the winter sun?

Why can’t it stay for long?

Why does hope glow like the stars only to beautify the night?

Why can’t it stay for long?

Why does it have to be like the uninviting castle?

Why can’t it stay for long?

Why does it have to be phantasmagoric?

Why can’t it stay for long?

Why does it have to be like the sunshine that plays hide and seek?

Why can’t it stay for long?

Why does it have to be like the dew drops?

Why can’t it stay for long?

Why can’t it be always lit like the candle?

So that the moth wont have to mourn anymore…
