Let me paint you a picture.
Imagine a pink. Now imagine a different shade of pink. I realized today that there are actually a million pinks. Today, I also realized that pink is my favorite color in the sky. A pink sky?
Getting back to the picture. A perfect, cotton candy pink sky. So unreal and vivid, I almost wanted to lick it.
But wait, it is not cotton candy anymore. Just before my eyes, the scenery changes – if this is not magic, what is? In front of me, the endless sky changes from cotton candy pink to aqua blue in mere minutes.
An aqua blue sky just above an aqua blue sea. All around me, the sand, the people, they somehow perfectly contradict it. I close my eyes and take it all in. I am grateful to you, whoever you are for bringing me here, for showing me this unusual, vivacious darkening of day; for showing me what magic is and how we don’t have to go to a circus or a magician with a funny hat, or even travel endless miles to see it. Magic is everywhere. We just have to learn to acknowledge its presence.
So, yes. I do find this portrait, the one with a swimming pool lying before me, a man playing the piano behind me, an equally amazed father next to me, and an eager, jumpy brother in front of me. The sound of thunder accompanying the notes of the piano, the occasional lighting up of the sky, the vast sea, as vast as my view, the sound of children screaming at each other in joy and probably another girl somewhere in the world, equally awestruck as me. Perfect. This picture is indeed perfect.
