I was there
on that infinite sight,
Where the sky met
the ocean’s wrath,
Showered in the golden rays
the sun guides.
No man could move me
until those tides
Which I felt past my shoes,
belt and collar,
And myself as wholly,
in its armour.
Mermaids below and sailors above
All with vengeance to shove
Could hear their yelling plea
As the waters withdrew me,
The most peaceful chaos
I ever found in this cosmos
