Starting Afresh

1–2 minutes

Written by Nandini Sethi

To new beginnings,

Realistic endings,

Fading memories,

And nights I don’t remember –

Not from parties and intoxicating cocktails,

But because of monotony,

Where the sameness of one night fades into the other,

And you forget to differentiate one day from the other.

There’s something so romantic about starting afresh,

Like fresh baked bread and strong coffee they show in movies,

But a new start can also mean sleeping in and trashy TV,

Indulgent pizzas and hibernating.

To our new beginnings,

Realistic endings,

And fading memories,

We wouldn’t be here without you.

Sometimes dolefully insightful, sometimes plain distressed state of mind, but always love. I think there’s a bit of love in everything we write.
