Half of 2022 is over. Let that sink in. While there’s been a lot of drama in the quintessential drama universe – from court trials and award show dramas to trends in the Wordle universe, a lot has happened, and there’s still halfway to go.
These 6 months have seen the rise of a lot of young authors, amplifying their voices via online portals, not only sticking to mainstream opinions and clickbait-y content but also channeling their talent through unique stories in different genres – from fiction, romance, thrillers, to comedy and mystery – it’s all happening here on BTP!
We’re rounding up some of the best short stories of 2022!

1. A Murder Without the Mystery
This story will keep you on the edge of your seat. There’s been a murder in the building, and everybody is paying their respects and secretly trying to figure out who the killer is. There’s only one person in the building who knows the answer. Maybe that’s the mystery?
2. Saturday Night In. And Out!
The woes of a parent: having to compromise on a Saturday night out to look after the kids. Most days, it’s not that big a deal, but sometimes, you miss that life. How does one head out for a party while ensuring their kids feel special and loved? This story provides the unique story of a couple who love 2 things most in the world: their kids and a good party!
3. 50 Years of Togetherness
This is the story of a couple preparing to celebrate their 50th anniversary. They recall their wedding day when they eloped, laughing fondly at the memories they made that day, hoping life could be that simple and fun again. Well, they’re not one to sit back and regret their fate – so they decide to do something about it. And oh, what a decision it turns out to be!
4. Oh, Bangalore
There’s only one word to describe this short story: quintessential Bangalore. Wait, that was 2 words. If you’re a local, this story will hit close to home, making you feel a sort of nostalgia only a Bangalorean can feel. If you’re an outsider, this story may give you a little insight into what it is like to visit the Garden City of India. You’re always welcome here!
